Having to train your characters in weapons they don't innately know how to wield in World of Warcraft Classic can be a bit of a weird concept to anyone who only started WoW during or after Cataclysm. Weapon trainers and the weapon skill system were removed in Cataclysm, but both are back in full force in WoW Classic. With this system, players will have to travel to weapon trainers to learn to use weapon types their class cannot use by default.

Additionally, to learn how to use a new weapon type effectively, you'll have to whack on mobs to increase your proficiency with it.

It's recommended you try to get your proficiency up in weapons you intend to use at endgame earlier rather than later, as the most effective way to level up your weapon skills is to just auto-attack enemies. It takes a heck of a long time to get to ~300 in a weapon skill if you start with a new weapon type late.Before we get into the locations of each weapon trainer in WoW Classic, let's go over which weapons each class can learn proficiency in, provided they visit the appropriate weapon trainers.
