You alluded to the film not doing as well as Disney wanted. When did you get that sense of the film not being the success they were hoping for?
If the show pulls from the comics at all, Lady Loki could be part of the Cabal introduced in The Dark Reign storyline. The Cabal in the comics is a secret society of supervillains and anti-heroes who are up to no good. In addition to Loki, the group includes Doctor Doom, Namor, Emma Frost, The Hood, and Norman Osborn. Does that mean we might see one or more of these other villains pop up in the remaining episodes of Loki? Given that Disney now controls the film and TV rights to the mutants and is making a Fantastic Four movie, it’s certainly possible that Frost or Doctor Doom could make an appearance, though it’s highly unlikely and you shouldn’t get your hopes up.
The news of a Beauty and the Beast prequel series isn’t exactly new. We’ve reported on this before – as recently as last year. But things have been a bit quiet on the Beauty and the Beast prequel series front, and some of us were hoping it would just go away. Oh well! It’s happening, and Disney made it official today by revealing that an eight-episode prequel to the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast is on the way, and it will bring back Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as LeFou, or Louie as he’s called. Briana Middleton is also part of the cast as Louie’s stepsister Tilly. The show will head to Disney+ when it’s ready.
In my humble opinion, the thing that sinks every season of American Horror Story is a clear lack of planning. The stories often feel as if they’ve been poorly thought out, and as a result, they run out of steam pretty damn fast. But having a show where each episode tells its own standalone story decreases the risk of that particular problem. At least, I hope it does.
