Khalil Mack is holding out from the mandatory minicamp for the Oakland Raiders.

Mack stayed away from the first day of the three-day minicamp on Tuesday. He is subject to a fine of about $80 D.J. Reader Jersey ,000 if he doesn't show up at all this week.

Mack is entering the final season of his rookie contract that is set to pay him $13.8 million. Mack is seeking a long-term deal and hasn't participated in the entire offseason program in the first year under new coach Jon Gruden.

"One of the big reasons I came here was to coach that man," Gruden said. "I don't want to speculate. There are a lot of guys in the league, several players in a similar situation. We're just trying to resolve it as soon as possible and in the meantime coach the players that are here."

Mack has been one of the top defensive players in football since being drafted in the first round in 2014. He was a first-team All-Pro at both defensive end and linebacker in 2015 and won AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. He has 40 1/2 sacks in four seasons and leads the NFL in QB pressures with 185.5 since entering the league, according to SportRadar.

"You can't replace Khalil," safety Karl Joseph said. "You know what he's doing. We respect it. I think the other guys have done a good job stepping up and learning the system like everybody else has been. When he's ready to come back, we'll be ready for him. You can't replace a guy like that."

The Raiders also signed free agent defensive tackles Ahtyba Rubin and Frostee Rucker on Tuesday and waived quarterback Christian Hackenberg and linebacker Brady Shelton to make room on the roster.

Rubin spent his first seven seasons with Cleveland before stints with Seattle, Denver and Atlanta the past three years. Rubin has appeared in 144 games and made 107 starts, while recording 428 tackles, 15 sacks, two interceptions Demarcus Lawrence Jersey , seven passes defensed, six forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Rucker spent the first six years of his career with Cincinnati before going to Cleveland in 2012. He spent the past five seasons with Arizona. Rucker has appeared in 142 games with 73 starts, recording 350 tackles, 21.5 sacks, one interception, 12 passes defensed, eight forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Dave Martinez picked the right moment for Daniel Murphy.

The first-year manager is hoping for more big plays for Washington in the final part of the season.

Murphy drove in two runs against his former team with a pinch-hit single in Washington’s five-run seventh inning, helping the Nationals beat the New York Mets 6-1 on Sunday.

Trea Turner also had a two-run single as Washington salvaged a split of its four-game set against New York. A preseason favorite to win the NL East and contend for a World Series championship, the Nationals hit the All-Star break with a 48-48 record, good for third in the division.

”For me it’s not disappointing. People can say William Perry Jersey , yeah look at our record, `The Nationals should be this, that,’ but I’m proud of the boys in this team,” Martinez said. ”Like I said, we went through some adversity and we utilized 40-something guys for a few months. To get (that) many guys in and out and trying to focus just on playing every day, it’s tough.”

Jeremy Hellickson (4-1) pitched six crisp innings in his second straight win. The veteran right-hander allowed one run and two hits, struck out six and walked two.

”We need all the wins we can get right now,” Hellickson said.

Jose Reyes drove in Michael Conforto with a fielder’s choice in the second, tying it at 1 Brandon Allen Jersey , but Washington grabbed control in the seventh.

Juan Soto and Anthony Rendon opened the inning with walks against Anthony Swarzak (0-2). Tim Peterson then came in and surrendered singles to Adams and Murphy, who came off the bench to hit for Michael A. Taylor.

Murphy and All-Star outfielder Bryce Harper were held out of the starting lineup for rest. Murphy missed the first two months of the season while recovering from knee surgery.

”Came in today, saw the lineup and went to work on my swing and fortunate to be able to come up in a big spot and get a base hit,” Murphy said.

Jerry Blevins replaced Peterson with two out and runners on second and third. But he hit Wilmer Difo and Adam Eaton before Turner’s single gave Washington a 6-1 lead.

New York wasted a solid start by Corey Oswalt, who allowed two hits in five innings. The Mets got off to a fast start this year, but hit the break last in the division with a 39-55 record, percentage points behind fourth-place Miami.

”One game we’ll score some runs and then we’ll kind of not get it done with our bullpen and other games we’ll kind of get it done on the pitching side and not score runs,” manager Mickey Callaway said. ”So we haven’t synched up those three components of our game yet. If we don’t, we’re going to continue not to win. Those things all have to go well for us to win games.”

WAITING

A steady drizzle delayed the start by 47 minutes.

MAKING MOVES

The Nationals recalled right-hander Trevor Gott from Triple-A Syracuse. Right-hander Austin Voth, who took the loss in his big league debut Saturday Eddie Jackson Jersey , was sent back to Syracuse.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Nationals: RHP Stephen Strasburg (right shoulder inflammation) pitched 5 2/3 innings in a rehab start for Class A Potomac. He allowed three runs, struck out seven and walked one. Strasburg has been on the disabled list since June 10.

Mets: Yoenis Cespedes is scheduled to play five simulated innings in left field at the team’s facility in Florida on Monday. Mets manager Mickey Callaway said the 32-year-old outfielder, who has been sidelined by a right hip flexor and strained quadriceps, could return as the designated hitter next weekend against the Yankees If he is able to play on consecutive days.
