Sam notes that many Venezuelans play enjoyment instead of gold and lots of the Venezuelan RuneScape players we have spoken to say the same, that they perform for enjoyment or gain from RuneScape by enjoying with it legitimately instead of by adhering to intensive gold farming methods. He does not believe that the increase in RuneScape players is having a negative influence on RuneScape, but it's actually helping the in-game market. He tells us he's met a diverse selection of RuneScape players from Venezuela, running the gamut from folks who perform RuneScape to feed their families when they need extra money, to people who mainly play for enjoyment but will turn to gold farming.

"Venezuelans don't hurt RuneScape integrity whatsoever; in fact they only make it more bearable for the high-end RuneScape players, since they maintain costs of certain things low," he says. As word of this crisis in Venezuela continues to spread, there has been a positive response from parts of the RuneScape community that are becoming conscious of what's happening in the country. Recently, one RuneScape YouTuber posted a movie in which he invited his 117,000 followers to Old School RS Gold assist Venezuela.
